Transition Coalition knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This notice describes our privacy policy. By creating an account on the Transition Coalition website, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice. You do not have to create an account on the Transition Coalition website to access much of our information.
Participants interested in receiving or utilizing the online training, surveys, and materials developed by the Transition Coalition will need to create an account. To create an account, a participant must identify an email address and password for the account. In addition, a participant must complete a demographic data survey. Passwords are secured so Administrators of the Transition Coalition cannot see it. No highly sensitive data (e.g. social security number, address, credit card information, student id, etc.) is requested. You can choose not to create an account, but then you might not be able to take advantage of some of our features including training and surveys.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the information that you provide for research purposes, helping us meet your needs as users of our website, and communicating with you. The data generated from your completion of modules, surveys, and other online resources is entered into our database for the purpose of determining effectiveness of our online tools. Your data will be aggregated with other participants’ data and will never be used individually or with your name associated with it.
Email Communication
To help us share information with you about our site or to request information from you, we may send you an e-mail from the Transition Coalition (transition@ku.edu). If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please adjust your account preferences in the My Account section of My Portfolio.
Sharing Information with Others
We do not sell or share specific information about the account holders of our website.
Specific to Discussion Forums
In order to use the discussion forums sponsored by the Transition Coalition, users are required to provide a username, password and e-mail address. Neither the Administrators of these forums, or the Moderators participating, are responsible for the privacy practices of any user.
Remember that all information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to share any of your personal information. Any user who finds material posted by another user objectionable is encouraged to contact the Transition Coalition.
We are authorized by you to remove or modify any data submitted by you to the discussion forums for any reason we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated, implied or not.
Our discussion forums may contain links to other web sites and files. We have no control over the content and can not ensure it will not be offensive or objectionable. We will, however, remove links to material that we feel is inappropriate as we become aware of it.
Cookies must be turned on in your browser to participate as a user in the discussion forums. Cookies are used here to hold your username and password and viewing options, allowing you full access to this website.
You are fully responsible for any information or file supplied by this user. You also agree that you will not post any copyrighted material that is not owned by yourself or the owners of the discussion forums. In your use of the discussion forums, you agree that you will not post any information which is vulgar, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws.
