More Info
The purpose of the Tips for Transition was to identify grassroots transition practices being used by practitioners. The collection of these tips was commissioned by the Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT) and supported by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These tips were submitted online by practitioners and categorized into the following domains.
- Transition Planning
- Student Involvement
- Family Involvement
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Transition Assessment
- Assistive Technology and UDL
- Students from Specific Disability Groups
- Interagency Collaboration
The original tips were reviewed by the DCDT Board members according to
their areas of expertise to ensure that tip could be considered a best
practice in transition. The tips that were approved by this review
process are included in the database.
Database
The database is searchable by keyword, domain and state. The
database allows anyone to email the practitioner who submitted the tip
to request additional information regarding the tip. For those tips in
which websites or additional resources were provided, the database
links to this additional information . Anyone can "suggest a tip" by
filling out an online form. New tips will be reviewed and if
appropriate added to the database. In this way, the Tips for Transition
will remain a renewable resource for transition practitioners!
The development of this database was supported by CEC Division of Career Development & Transition (DCDT) and the Missouri Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
